Laser marking is often used to put a traceable mark on an object, such as a bar code, part number or logo
Laser marking is a specialized use of laser engraving. The aim of laser marking is to put an indelible mark on a surface, that cannot easily be removed. Often, laser marking is used to put a traceable mark on an object, such as a bar code, part number, logo or other anti counterfeit measure.
Basically, laser marking is a very similar process to laser engraving. If used on metal, the process may be a little different. Traditional metal engraving removes material. However, laser marking can make an indelible mark on top of the metal, if a laser marking solution is applied to the surface first. Laser marking can reproduce digital images in great detail.
